The night I saw Robben, I simply stood there with my feet planted, arms crossed, didn't budge for two hours. The best I ever saw with me own eyes are Larry Coryell and Robben Ford with his brilliant band, the Blue Line. He's far more than a great guitarist. He's a peach of a guy, a gentleman, like Brian May. Oh, and Robben can play that sax solo himself.

This solo needs to be on Rick Beato’s next reaction video. Still feels the first time I heard this!

Bill Rogers blended virtuosity, soul, ears, originality and deep feeling in a way that was very identifiable. On this recording he was still in his twenties and though he would only live about another 10 years he left a his mark and then some. It’s also incredible how well he blended with Wilton Felder when they played in unison.

I was going through boxes of journaling notebooks, when I saw a message about knowing Rachel Faro while going to Naropa Institute in Boulder, CO in 1976-1978. It was a pleasure hearing her play and sing at various gatherings. She invited me to a party at her apartment after a concert featuring the ECM Jazz label players; Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette, Gary Burton, Eberhard Weber, Collin Walcott, and Pat Metheny. I can still hear Rachel's lovely laughter in the room, as I made a screwdriver for Metheny.

Outstanding guitar. The singer spends too much time off the beautiful melody line for my liking (I like the laid back style of the original) - but great voice.
